"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." This is week one of the Pancakes & French Fries William Morris Project, happening again, every thursday in 2013.
So, with the new year comes a new house, at least that is what is happening this year. After our move to Portland a little over a year ago, I was fairly sure we were settled for the time we were here. Surprise! We are moving in closer to the city, and closer to an internship my husband is planning on doing next spring. The house we are moving into became available this month so we are scrambling to pack and purge and clean during the next few weeks.
I know that the last year was full of projects all related to the house we are now leaving, which seems rather silly, but it is a neat and tidy way to start a new year of William Morris Projects! Over the next week I will put together a round up of sorts that documents the 2012 projects, as well as organize that messy link page where all the weeks should be available, but aren't.
Here is a sneak peek photo of the new house, which is amazing! Built in 1909, complete with a secret passage {sort of} and a spooky attic.
I have been busy hunting down lights and puzzling over furniture arrangement. How do you deal with a living room AND parlor? Sigh. I am sure I will survive, somehow.
Looking forward to a new adventure, Alice
