Lord Huron was a complete surprise to me, in a good way. Since the advent of Pandora, I haven't really bothered to go out and look for new music. This is partly because I am quite partial to the music that's familiar to me, but mostly because I am lazy. Finding something new, that sounded {or felt} happy was so fun! I listened to the Into the Sun EP several times before driving everyone else around me nuts. The Lord Huron website has both EP's available to listen to, as well as links for where to buy. The whole thing {media, photos, cover art} is so visually striking, I put a little list together of things you can do to 'Lord Huron' a room in your house! Pick up some free furniture, or {if you don't like the idea of other peoples couch cooties} buy the Henry loveseat from West Elm, along with some vintage folding chairs. If flooring is on your list, you can buy Armstrong tile in red and white, among other colors. All you need now to complete your Lord Huron look is a big wood framed piece of frontier art, some guitars, sunshine, and of course, a record player, since they pressed Vinyl instead of Cds. {Way to go!} I also think some paper lanterns, and flower garlands would add to the mood.
